How Do I Evaluate Fish for Tanks, Water Types, and Care?
Each fish species has its own personality, as well as its own requirements for care. Even different breeds within the same species can require different care. And if you don’t choose your fish wisely, you could end up with some serious problems. You could lose your fish, ruin your plants, or damage the ecosystem in your tank.
That’s why it’s important to know what your dream fish needs before you drop it into your tank. Here are my three main evaluation categories:
Care Needs
Everything you need to know about social behavior, personalities, and special needs for each fish.
Diet Needs
The types of food each fish prefers, along with any special feeding instructions or warnings.
Tank Needs
Know the right size, substrates, decor, water conditioning, and temperature needs for each fish.
